What is KINESTHETIC learning ?

The Kinesthetic learning style is learning by doing things. It involves use of the whole body and guarantee active and practical participation.

What are the results ?

Learners remember better through getting physically involved.

Why using Kinesthetic learning style ?

After investigation, Neil Fleming and Christopher Mills find a model (VARK model ) to explain in a simple way what are the 4 main different types of learning. Each individual can identify himself to one of these 4 learning preferences :

  • Visual
  • Auditory
  • Reading & Writing
  • Kinesthetic

However everyone has in himself a bit of these 4 modalities in a percentage. If you are interested to discover what is your learning preference, you can do a test on this website : www.whatismylearningstyle.com

The benefit of understanding what type of learner you are is to be able then to create with your teacher a tailored learning method and to guarantee a learning process as quick and efficient possible.

La Petite Ecole de Leeds

I have the opportunity to teach every Saturday morning in a French Little School. Working with teenagers using different art elements (music, drawing, dancing or drama) makes my experience in teaching every single Saturday more and more rich.

This school feels like a little France in the Yorkshire. All teachers are french or fluent in French and bring to the school a real french culture and atmosphere. The students there are really lucky to benefit from this double culture.
